Allstar Lending is a loan connection service. We are not a lender, and we never pretend to be one — our job is simpler and, we think, more useful: one short request on this site can reach a network of independent, state-licensed lenders who fund personal loans between $500 and $5,000, so you can compare real offers instead of filling out the same application a dozen times.
The site you are reading is the other half of that job. Every category page, amount page, and blog guide here exists so that the person comparing offers actually understands what the offers say — what an APR measures, how an amortization schedule splits a payment, when a loan is the wrong tool entirely. We would rather you borrow once, on purpose, than often, by accident.
Our Mission
Small-dollar borrowing has a trust problem, and most of it is earned. Products with triple-digit rates dress up as conveniences; fine print hides balloon payments; and the borrower in a genuinely tight week has the least time of anyone to read carefully. Our mission is to be the calm counterweight: connect people only with installment lenders whose loans have fixed schedules and disclosed terms, and surround the request form with enough plain-language education that the fine print stops being fine.
That is also why you will find pages on this site that argue against borrowing. The guide on when a loan is the wrong answer is not an accident of editorial independence — it is the editorial position. A connection service that only ever says yes is a billboard.
How We Work
When you submit a request through the form on our apply page, the information goes to our lending network, where participating lenders review it against their own criteria. If one or more want to make an offer, you hear back — typically within minutes during business hours — and the decision from there is entirely yours. Reviewing an offer costs nothing and commits you to nothing; the loan agreement, if you accept one, is between you and that lender directly.
We are paid by the lenders in our network for the connection, not by you. That compensation model is described in full on our advertiser disclosure page, because a financial site that is vague about its own finances has no business explaining anyone else's.
Submitting a request does not affect your credit score. Lenders in the network use soft-pull data at the matching stage; a full credit check happens only if you proceed with a specific lender's offer, and that lender will tell you before it happens.
How Our Content Is Made
Every guide on this site is written and reviewed by our small editorial team, whose short biographies appear on the articles they write. We check our math in public — the same payment calculator we link readers to is the one we use to produce every worked example — and when a figure is an estimate, the page says so next to the figure, not in a footnote.
We do not accept payment for coverage, rankings, or review scores. The compensation that keeps the site running is disclosed on every page's footer and detailed in the advertiser disclosure; it never changes what a guide concludes.
Where to Find Us
Allstar Lending is based at 9091 Brookside Boulevard, Suite 515, Hartford, CT 06106. You can reach our support team at (888) 295-0662 or by email at [email protected] — the contact page has the details, including the hours when a human picks up fastest.
If you are ready to compare offers, the request form is on our apply page and takes about five minutes. If you are not ready, the resources menu above is the better place to start — and we mean that.
